Semaglutide is a clinically proven weight loss treatment, available as an injection under the brand name Wegovy. It’s also a treatment for type-2 diabetes, available as an injection called Ozempic, or as an oral tablet called Rybelsus. These are sometimes prescribed off-label for weight loss, too.

Zepbound is a once-a-week injection for weight loss that helps lower your blood sugar. It contains the active ingredient tirzepatide in a pre-filled pen. To be eligible to use Zepbound for weight loss, you must have obesity (a BMI of 30 or above) or a health condition or risk factors that are affected by weight and a BMI of at least 27.
