The pill that’s more potent than Viagra.
Vardanafil takes effect within 25 minutes and lasts for 5 hours for most people but can last for up to 12 hours. It works similarly to Viagra but shows better results.

Vardenafil is a generic (unbranded) erectile dysfunction (ED) tablet for men struggling to get or maintain an erection.
It increases blood flow to the penis to help achieve an erection.
How does Vardenafil compare with Sildenafil?
Vardenafil and Sildenafil are both PED5 inhibitors that help men achieve an erection. Vardenafil takes 25 to 60 minutes to work and remains active for up to 12 hours,[1][3] whereas Sildenafil takes around 30 minutes to work and usually lasts 3-5 hours, but in some cases its effects can also last for up to 12 hours.
Will I get side effects from taking Vardenafil?
Yes. You might get side effects when taking Vardenafil. The most common side effects are headaches, dizziness, flushing and indigestion.
But unlike some other ED treatments, like Sildenafil, you’re unlikely to experience visual disturbances with Vardenafil.[2]
What is the difference between Vardenafil and Tadalafil?
Tadalafil (brand name Cialis) is an ED medication that can last up to 36 hours, compared to Vardenafil which typically only lasts around 5 hours, but can last up to 12. This makes Tadalafil useful for men planning to have sex multiple times over a few days.
This doesn’t mean you’ll have an erection for 36 hours straight; the drug will remain active in your blood during this time, and you’ll only get an erection whenever you’re aroused.
What doses of Vardenafil are there?
Vardenafil is available in 4 doses: 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg. The recommended starting dose is 10mg, which your doctor can increase or decrease to fit your needs.

How do I take Vardenafil?
Swallow one Vardenafil tablet whole with water, around 60 minutes before you plan to have sex.
While Vardenafil can help achieve a firm erection, you’ll need to be sexually aroused for this to happen.
I took Vardenafil but it doesn’t work. What should I do?
If Vardenafil isn’t working well for you, let your clinician know and they’ll be able to prescribe a higher dose.
To get the best results with Vardenafil, consider limiting your alcohol intake, consuming a light meal when taking the medication, and exercising regularly.[1]

Vardenafil: FAQ
Have something specific you want to know? Search our info below, or ask our experts a question if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
How long does Vardenafil take to work?
Answer:
Vardenafil takes around 25 to 60 minutes to work. It’s best to take it an hour before you plan to have sex to give it enough time to start working.
If you want a treatment that works faster, Stendra (avanafil) can be effective in as little as 15 minutes.
What is Vardenafil ODT?
Answer:
Vardenafil orally disintegrating tablets (ODT) is an orodispersible tablet version of the 10mg dose. Orodispersible tablets don't need to be taken with water as they dissolve in your mouth, making them more convenient.
At Treated, we don't have generic Vardenafil ODT, but we do have a branded version of it called Staxyn.
How safe is Vardenafil?
Answer:
Vardenafil is very safe (as long as you take it correctly). But like all drugs it can cause side effects, such as headaches or dizziness.
If your side effects last for a long time or make you feel worried, let your physician know.
Which is more effective: Vardenafil or Sildenafil?
Answer:
In a trial comparing the two drugs, more men preferred Vardenafil (38.9%) over Sildenafil (34.5%), although the difference was not statistically significant.
Vardenafil achieved a slightly better score on erectile function tests than Sildenafil. Additionally, more men using Vardenafil reported greater satisfaction and performance responses than those using Sildenafil.[1]

Vardenafil seems to work well for some, providing a reliable erection, sometimes even with a partial dose and lasting effects. However, others found it ineffective or experienced side effects like chest pressure and stomach burning. Some users compared it favorably to Sildenafil, while others preferred Cialis.
