What is Qnasl?
Qnasl is a steroid nasal spray that helps relieve sinusitis symptoms, like a blocked and stuffy nose. It doesn’t help treat sinusitis, but it makes living with symptoms easier. To treat sinusitis, you’ll need antibiotics or antivirals.
How does Qnasl work?
Beclomethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation. This helps reduce swelling in your sinuses, which helps relieve symptoms like stuffy and blocked nose.
Is there a generic version of Qnasl?
Yes, there’s a generic version of Qnasl that simply goes by the name Beclomethasone dipropionate nasal spray. There’s not much difference between branded and generic medications, as they’re both made in a similar way and are equally effective. The main differences are their price and appearance – generic medications tend to be cheaper and come in plainer packaging.
How does Qnasl compare with Flonase?
Qnasl and Flonase are two treatments that provide symptom relief, but they do so in different ways.
Qnasl is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and is effective for alleviating symptoms of sinusitis. In contrast, Flonase is an antihistamine that helps control symptoms like a runny or watery nose and is typically prescribed for allergy relief.
Although the symptoms of sinusitis and allergies can be similar, it’s important to use the right medicine for each condition.
What doses of Qnasl are there?
Qnasl comes in one dose of 80 mcg for adults. For children, there’s also a lower dose of 40mcg. You typically spray once in each nostril, twice a day. Your doctor will give you more details on how long to use it for.
