Satiety

Definition:

Satiety refers to the feeling of fullness you get after eating, caused by signals and hormones being sent to your brain from your stomach.

Some foods promote satiety more than others. Protein, fibre and healthy fats are all known to be satiating.[1],[2] This is why a big plate of salad can leave you feeling more satisfied than a bowl of chips, even though it might contain fewer calories.
