Resistance training, also often called weight or strength training, is a type of exercise that involves working your muscles against an opposing force. This force can come from weights, resistance bands or your own body weight. The goal of resistance training is to improve your muscular strength, endurance and size.
There are many different types of resistance training exercises. The best ones for you will depend on your fitness level, goals, and limitations. It’s generally important to start slowly and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts as you get stronger.
