Intermittent fasting

Definition:

Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of eating and fasting. Unlike traditional diets that focus on what you eat, IF focuses on when you eat. There are a few ways to do intermittent fasting, but all split the day or week into eating windows and fasting windows. During fasting periods, you typically abstain from food but can have calorie-free drinks like water, black coffee or herbal tea.

Some research shows that intermittent fasting can promote weight loss, improve blood sugar control and reduce inflammation.[1]

But it’s not recommended for everyone. Talk to a clinician or nutrition expert before starting any new diet plan.
