Definition:

GLP-1 agonists are a class of medications that mimic the action of GLP-1. They are used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity. GLP-1 agonists work by increasing insulin production, reducing glucagon secretion, slowing down stomach emptying, and reducing appetite.[1]
