Ghrelin
Definition:
Sometimes called the ‘hunger hormone,’ ghrelin is the hormone your stomach produces when it’s empty, signalling to your brain that it’s time to eat.
Ghrelin also has other functions, including promoting fat storage, stimulating your digestive system to move food into your intestines, and helping to control insulin release. [1]
