Antioxidant

Definition:

Antioxidants are molecules that help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules your body produces as a reaction to environmental and other pressures. They’re associated with an increased risk of inflammation and various health issues. [1]

Antioxidants can be found in many foods, especially fruits, vegetables and other plant-based whole foods. Certain vitamins, such as vitamins E and C are antioxidants too.
